Corn Bread

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 50 g butter
  • 1 cup cornmeal / Polenta
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  2. Pour the cornmeal in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Sift the flour and baking powder together into the bowl. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  4. Heat the milk and butter together in a pan until the butter melts.
  5. Pour into the flour and mix well.
  6. Add in the egg and mix well.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and bake for 25 minutes.
